Introducing New Mental Health Support Services from Youturn Health

One-on-one peer support for first responders and their families

As a first responder, you face unique challenges most people never encounter. The weight of your work, the things you see, and the pressure to always be strong can take a real toll. The statistics back this up: 85% of first responders experience a mental health-related challenge at some point in their careers. If you’re struggling, you’re not alone—and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s simply part of the demanding, vital work you do every day.

That’s why the Trust is excited to introduce Youturn Health, a confidential virtual support program now available to all active members, retirees, and their families at no cost. This benefit is designed specifically for the first responder community.

What Makes Youturn Health Different?

The heart of Youturn Health is peer support from people who truly understand. You’ll be matched with trained and certified coaches who share similar lived experiences—people who know what it means to work in high-stress, high-stakes environments. Whether you’re navigating everyday stress, processing a difficult call, managing parenting challenges while working irregular shifts, dealing with relationship struggles, or facing substance use concerns, you’ll work one-on-one with someone who understands your world.

Comprehensive Support Through Three Key Services

Unlimited Peer Coaching: This is your cornerstone resource. Get one-on-one support from a coach matched to your specific needs and challenges. Sessions are flexible and virtual, fitting your schedule rather than the other way around. Your coach can help you work through stress management, grief and loss, emotional wellness, relational challenges, financial concerns, mental health issues, substance use, bullying and peer pressure, major life transitions such as blended family situations, and healthy lifestyle habits. There’s no limit to how many sessions you can have—this support is here for as long as you need it.

Online Learning Platform: Sometimes you want to learn and process on your own time. Youturn Health’s virtual library features over 500 educational and inspirational videos covering behavioral health challenges, stress management techniques, supportive communication skills, mental health topics, and substance use. Access these resources anytime, anywhere—whether it’s 2 PM or 2 AM.

Family Support Services: We know that when one family member struggles, the whole family feels it. That’s why your spouse, partner, children, and other family members have full access to Youturn Health at no additional cost. Each family member is matched with a peer coach to address their unique goals and challenges. This isn’t just about you getting support—it’s about supporting the people who support you.
